Raptors Vs Mavs Friday November 4th 2022

Raptors Vs Mavs Friday November 4th 2022

Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks snatched a 111-110 victory from the Toronto Raptors in front of their home crowd. The game see-sawed back and forth, with the Mavericks owning a 19 point lead at one point in the second half before the Raptors came thundering back. In retrospect, it was an even match between two teams that are both working to be counted among contenders in the league.

One of the most notable was the injury to Siakam. He was playing well when he went down, he did finish with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists. However, he fell awkwardly after slipping on a wet patch. That was the game for him as he had to be helped off the floor and did not return.

This was a valiant effort by the Raptors, but ultimately it wasn’t enough. The Mavericks were just too much on this night. We will have to see how they respond without Siakam in the lineup going forward.

Another aspect worth mentioning is the play of Luka Doncic. He scored 35 points, which is impressive, mainly because he only took 15 field goal attempts. His efficiency rating was very high, as he made 13 out of 14 free throw attempts. Luka magic was absolutely a nightmare for the Raptors all game. In the process, Doncic became the only other player to have scored 30+ points in the first eight games of the season besides Wilt Chamberlain. Chamberlain accomplished the feat in the first eight games in the 1959-60 season. He went on to win the MVP award that year.

The Toronto Raptors will look to get back on track when they take on the Chicago Bulls Sunday afternoon.
