Raptors versus Spurs game on November 2nd, 2022

The Freddy Vanvleet-less Raptors took care of San Antonio tonight with an overpowering 43-point victory. Raptors came out of the gates flying, and they never looked back as they steamrolled over the Spurs 143-100. Sure the Spurs were missing Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassel, but the Raptors looked like a team on a mission as they coasted to their 3rd consecutive victory.

What a night for Pascal Siakam! He was all over the court, whether he was dishing out assists, bringing the ball upcourt, or scoring himself. He was absolutely fantastic and ended up with his second triple-double of the season.

"OG OD Oh My!" He seems bullish on defence at times with extra force and strength. This is the second game in a row where OG has had five or more steals; he's the only raptor in club history to be able to do that. OG is putting up impressive numbers and making a compelling argument for the NBA's "defensive player of the year" award. Not only are his five steals and one block impressive, but how he achieved them has caught everyone's attention. His immense strength and agility make it look easy. OG finished the game with 18 points and a +28 rating.

"Mr. Instant Offense," Garry Trent Junior, had no trouble sinking baskets tonight. He looks comfortable and calm. His play was a big reason why the Raptors could keep their foot on the gas and not let the Spurs back into the game. He had an excellent game, finishing with 24 points and a +35 rating. He shot 9-17 from the field without forcing a single shot.

The pace that Pascal and Scottie are bringing the ball up the court with force is really impressive in the absence of the All-star steady Freddy. They are both playing with a lot of confidence.

The Raptors have been on an absolute tear lately, and they look like they will be a force to be reckoned with this season. They will take on Luka and the Dallas Mavericks next game Friday night in Dallas. It will be interesting to see how they match up.
