Post-game reaction to Raptors versus Hawks game on October 31st, 2022

The raptors beat the Atalanta Hawks with ease tonight. Raptor's length was a problem for the Hawks all game long. Raptors challenged every pass and pursuit every shot. Raptors created 18 turnovers and they ended up winning by 30 points. This was an impressive win altogether, considering that steady Freddy missed the game with lower back problems. Raptors' defence all of a sudden looks extremely dangerous, and they look like they are hitting their stride at the right time, coming out of a brutal seven-game stretch to begin the season.

Scottie Barnes had a career-high five 3-pointers and looked comfortable running the point alongside Pascal. OG, oh My!! He was a problem for the Hawks all game. He stopped the Hawks guards' penetrations and ended up with six steals and two blocks. He created havoc for the Hawks with his size and strength. OG is making his case for the "defensive player of the year" early this year.

In general, Raptor's defence was very interruptive; they bothered the explosive Trae Young all game, as he only scored 14 points on 3-of-13 shooting. Trae Young game-high 10 turnovers was his career high, and it is a testament to how well the Raptors were guarding him all game.

Christian Koloko, Raptors Rookie, looked good with three blocks and a +23 point rating. He fits well with the first unit and does exactly what the Raptors need: to provide energy, hustle, rebounding and shot-blocking.

This was an excellent all-around performance by the Raptors, who continue to look like one of the best teams in the NBA.

The Hawks and the Raptors are now 4-3, with the Raptors having played the more formidable teams.

Pascal Siakam had another great game, scoring 31 points, and grabbing 12 rebounds with a +30 rating. With his stellar play, Pascal Siakam is making a case for the league MVP early in the season.

Garry Trent Jr. and Scottie Barns each had 21 points, with a +28 and a +31 rating, respectively. Scottie was feeling it tonight for deep early and often, but he was doing much more than just hitting the 3-pointers. He pushed the ball in transition and played tremendously on defence.

Raptors will look to extend their win streak to 3 games as they take on the San Antinio Spurs on Wednesday night.
